How does SSM book fit into your Preparation ?
This is one of the most common questions which many PG aspirants have been asking me. So I thought answering this query through this post here.
SSM book is a high yield theory book which contains the "essence" of all 19 subjects of PG medical entrance exams of past 15 years. It is very likely that 'if it has been asked as an MCQ earlier' - 'you are most likely to find it here'! Of course, you will find many "potential/future" questions also here. You can check under "ALBUMS" under "photos" of this FB group to see that in almost every exam, this book will have a good "strike rate" (meaning that you will find answers n this book for a significant portion of MCQs asked in these exams - NEET PG, AIIMS, PGI, JIPMER, NIMHANS, UPSC, FMGE etc).
Now given the fact that many of you will be using popular Apps like Marrow, Prepladder or coaching classes like DAMS, DBMCI etc - there will be a dilemma as to how to incorporate this book into your timetable/schedule. One of the best methods would be to use this book after studying any theory OR after watching any videos OR after reading your notes (self made/pre printed) - in that way - the matter gets instantly revised. During this process you will find that - a good portion of whatever your teacher covered in the class or whatever is mentioned in your notes - is ALREADY there given in the SSM book. That is because - as I mentioned earlier - this book contains the "essence" of all frequently asked topics of all subjects in a very concise - easily readable manner. Thus this book is compatible with all notes/videos/classes also. Also, if you are solving any question banks - I would suggest you to read the theory from SSM before solving a particular topic - similarly you will be able to answer about > 60-70% MCQs of your Question Banks through SSM theory itself - thus this book is compatible with all Questions banks also!
Of course you could transfer info by writing down extra points from SSM book into your notes OR vice-versa also.I have provided the index of SSM book under "FILES" in this FB group and also in the SSM Android App as a downloadable Google PDF drive link - you can use that to locate the topics corresponding to your class/video/notes. It is a large >100 page index and hence is NOT printed in the book.
SSM 13th edn is latest and is available on Amazon, Atithi books, Flipkart, DNA Mart etc online and of course in all major bookstores - go ahead without a second thought and start using it right away.
And for those who are not yet aware, I have started a QQ bank (Quick Question Bank) on the SSM Android App, This contains > 400 clinical MCQs with explanations, Subjectwise MCQs without explanations, Images, Previous papers etc. There is of course some work in progress here, but it is likely to be complete by July-Aug 2020. Thus NEET PG and Nov session exam aspirants will benefit the most from this. Even if you are already using popular Apps or Q Banks - this will definitely benefit you guys. I would suggest you to Subscribe to this (Price is 999 only) and is valid till NEET PG exam in Jan 2020. (IOS users have to use this at suresuccessmagic.testpress.in - iOS App after 2 months only, Sorry)
BEFORE I sign out - YES - this book WILL help FMGE aspirants also - no doubt there - I do care equallly about you guys also !, please do not feel left out when I talk about only PG aspirants. Ans anyway overall info for both exams is the same and these days FMGE exam standard has also come on par with NEET PG standard!
